four-wheelin' and grouse-shootin'
Mom and Dad were heading up to the cabin. We had been invited, but decided to stay home to get some other stuff done. They left Wednesday night....come 10pm Thursday night, we found ourselves packing our bags and hitting the road for Victor :) Who were we fooling by opting out of a weekend at the cabin??! Definitely not ourselves! It was a BEAUTIFUL weekend to be in the valley. We spent the time relaxing, four-wheeling, eating AMAZING "crazy corn" (you know, the Mexican corn that is roasted and then is dipped in that special sauce [aka MAYO] and then sprinkled with cotija cheese and chili powder....Mmmmm!). I never want to leave the cabin after being there. It's {almost} always depressing to have to think about returning to normal responsibilities! We are trying to take advantage of every opportunity we can to spend time there before this baby comes!
Victor, ID - my home away from home! This was our view from the top of the four-wheeler ride in the Big Hole Mountains, looking across the valley! |
Worn out after a long ride! |
That ride was DUSTY! Cleaning up after a fun ride! |
Uncle Cor ever-so-kindly got Gracie to fall asleep with a sock covering her eyes so the light wouldn't get in them! She was GONE! |
Gracie and Ele look on at the "sleeping" grouse that Johnny is "waking up" (according to Gracie) |
Probably discussing the circle of life or something profound like that (we ate them for dinner, much to Hadlee's dismay!) |
Not sure what to say about this one... |
I love this little cowgirl! |

hey Culligan man, it's State Fair time!
We had to get our yearly dose of the State Fair in this year! You can never go wrong with walking around to see the animals, eating deep-fried fair food [can you say Deep Fried Cheesecake anyone!?! WOW!], enjoying the salesman trying to get you to buy their goods. The Blackfoot (aka Eastern Idaho State) Fair has always been a highlight of the year since I was a kid. It's fun to be back there with my own little family. Gracie especially loved being there with her cousins Hadlee and Ele.
She could not get enough of this little baby goat! It was the cutest thing ever to see her get so animated and slap happy around it! It made me want to take it home! |
