my niece -- the baby princess actress from "Willow" look alike (but a whole lot cuter!)

after a comment made by Kimberly saying that Hadlee kind of looked like the baby princess actress on the movie Willow, I had to do some investigating....here is what I discovered...let me know what you think!

and just to clarify -- I DO NOT think that my sister-in-law Jordon is an accurate look-alike for Willow...she is MUCH more beautiful! love ya Jord!!

life is good!

graduate school and things of that sort...

so, it's true. since the last time i posted (well, the time before the last time) I started my Masters of Social Work program at BYU (I just can't seem to get enough of this busy little town in this valley...) I'm pleased to say that it's all been good so far.

The Social Work program is a 67 credit program...2 years (well, 5 semesters, 4 months each)...I anticipate graduating April 2010. Man, that sounds so far off, but really, it's gonna be here before I know it.

Classes are good. I've actually been pleasantly surprised. The line-up includes:

* Social Work Policy
(I've really really enjoyed the readings and lectures for this class...Dr. Seipel seems to think a little bit more like the folks I love...a.k.a. my left-leaning crazy amazing family...)

* Social Work Research Methods (should be a decent class...we get to start our research project for the program in this class...I need to figure that out...)

* Casework (I'm excited for this one too...I'm learning SOOO much....things that I've wanted to be better at but maybe just didn't know how to implement or initiate...)

* Global Issues of Children at Risk
(this is a fascinating and emotionally driven class...Dr. Jini Roby is from Korea and was an orphan there when she was 11 yrs old...she was adopted and brought to the states...her background is AMAZING and I'm learning more than I ever knew before about the issues that face vulnerable children ALL over the world.)

* Person & Environment (again, another interesting class...the first 3 weeks has been spent learning about something called "Interpersonal Family Dynamics" or Persogenics...learning about a way to identify personality patterns of interactino and how we interact with others who are similar or different to our own. FYI - I am an "AMIABLE/ANALYTICAL." the other patterns were DOMINANT and EXPRESSIVE....what are you??)

and last but not least:
* Rock Climbing!!! (need I say more?!)

Life is good...it's busy and crazy, but it's good. I really am blessed. I have good friends. I have an amazing family who loves me. I am happy to be here where I am, at this particular time. I am grateful for the experiences I have had that have brought me to this point. I am grateful for the experiences that have shaped me and have helped me see myself in many different lights.

I am STOKED for the next two years of intellectual, academic, spiritual and personal growth.

BRING IT ON!!!

p.s. here is a pic of the people I will be eating, sleeping, drinking, and breathing SOCIAL WORK with for the next 19 months of my life :) they are stellar people!! yay for MSW class of 2010!!!!
